Accessibility Statement
Last updated: July 1, 2024
SageHomes Inc. is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We strive to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, as well as applicable requirements under the Accessible Canada Act and provincial accessibility legislation.
Our Commitment
We are committed to:
- Making SageHomes perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users.
- Continuously reviewing and improving the accessibility of our platform.
- Providing accessible alternatives where technical limitations exist.
- Responding promptly to accessibility feedback and requests.
Measures We Take
SageHomes implements accessibility in the following ways:
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone.
- Visible Focus Indicators: Clear focus outlines are visible when navigating with a keyboard.
- Semantic HTML: We use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and semantic elements to support assistive technologies.
- Colour Contrast: Text and interactive elements maintain a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 (WCAG AA) to support users with low vision.
- Alternative Text: All meaningful images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked to be skipped by screen readers.
- Form Labels: All form fields have associated visible labels and descriptive error messages.
- ARIA Landmarks: We use ARIA roles where HTML semantics alone are insufficient, and avoid overusing ARIA.
- Responsive Design: SageHomes is fully responsive and works on mobile devices, tablets, and desktops.
- No Content Hidden Behind JavaScript: All important information is available in server-rendered HTML.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, some areas of SageHomes may not yet fully meet all guidelines. We are actively working to identify and address these gaps. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please contact us and we will prioritize a resolution.

SageHomes is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers: NVDA (Windows), JAWS (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), TalkBack (Android)
